Question by First time driving in snow: How is the drive from ca to lake tahoe nv?
I’m taking my daughter to Lake Tahoe from the south bay area of California… Is anyone familiar with this drive? Is it dangerous?

yes, i’ve done the drive from berkeley to reno on the 80, and the 50. my dad took me every year when i was little. now that im grown me and my husband drive it about 6 to 7 times during the year (when we have money) i’ve driven it in the heat and when it is snowing. i have never experienced anything bad– dangerous. it is a well marked freeway. you should have no problems. keep in mind driving in the snow is different then what we’re use to in the bay area, so i recommend that you check around on the web for info. on driving in the snow if you have never driven in it. also, i would buy snow chains for your tires before you go, cuz there twice as much up there, and they may not have your type.
