Question by Anonymous: What would it be like to live near Lake Tahoe?
I live in New Jersey but my family is thinking of moving out to Lake Tahoe to escpae the corporate grind and sky high living costs. I am 23 and not too sure what kind of economy exists out there and if I would go crazy there. I dont really care about bars but do like to eat decent food. I am amibitious and currently work in sales. I like snowboarding, mt mountain, running and hiking. My brother is 9 and I hear they have decent schools, but I would like more input.

Lake Tahoe is a favorite destination for several of the reasons you mention plus swimming, water skiing, camping, white water rafting, kayaking, panning for gold, hang gliding, golf, motorcycling, ATV, and off road driving. All this is within 1 hour… not to mention gambling, Truckee, plus the national bowling museum, and the air races in nearby Reno.

The food will be better and fresher than that in the Garden State. You will be within a couple hundred miles of the new garden for the US.

Lastly, are the gems of the area…Yosemite and the magnificent sequoia. Find out for yourself:
